Summary Judgment in favor of Mike Smith Autoplaza affirmed. In the first Rule 166a(i) case to be considered by the Beaumont court of appeals, the court held that there was no evidence the brakes on the plaintiff's vehicle were defective.

Taylor v. Thompson

Jaimes v. Fiesta Mart, Inc.

The court held that there was no evidence of a product defect, and there was no duty as a matter of law.

Lonon v. Fiesta Mart, Inc.

Argued by Joe Gagnon in February 1999

Malicious Prosecution

Summary Judgment in favor of Fiesta Mart affirmed.  The court held that Fiesta had probable cause to file a criminal complaint against Lonon.
